MEET THE TEAM

Ollie Ormond

Ollie Ormond

Ollie began his hospitality career at Boomrock in Wellington as a young man and has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

When he finished school he carried on to achieve his degree in Hotel Management and left New Zealand to gain international experience and extend his knowledge of the business.

Ollie ran operations in luxury hotels around the world including The Savoy London, The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui and Raffles Praslin Seychelles where he did everything from organising day to day operations to hosting many international ‘A’ listers (you might be able to get some info out of him!)

After 12 years abroad, he returned home to branch out the family business and launch Boomrock in Auckland. Combining his overseas experience in meticulous attention to detail and exceptional service with our local NZ charm has given Kauri Bay Boomrock the advantage with an unparalleled hospitality offering.

Ollie’s passion is thinking outside the box and creating unique out of the ordinary experiences.

Support and Contributions

NZ Rugby Foundation

Partnering with New Zealand’s seriously injured players for life, we are at the heart of a true team where whānau, funders, donors, affiliates and the rugby community combine to ensure support for seriously injured players is maximised.

Westpac Helicopters

When speed to hospital is critical or when the location is remote or challenging, Life Flight’s rescue team is called upon. Our Westpac Rescue Helicopter serves the lower North and upper South Island.

Clevedon School

Clevedon School is a Decile 9 primary school catering for children from Year 1-8. The school is situated in an attractive, country setting 15km from Manukau City. We passionately value our long history of more than 150 years, our traditions and unique rural character.

Plunket Foundation

Since it was established in 2008, the Plunket Foundation has invested in programs that support Plunket’s work with communities, with a focus on equity to ensure no child is left behind, and to keep our children safe and healthy.

Auckland Polo Club

Auckland Polo Club is nestled in picturesque countryside in the village of Clevedon,  just 40 minutes drive from downtown Auckland. The Club’s beautiful grounds include two polo fields,  with use of four more in close vicinity and, on the sideline of the No 1 Fisher field, a fabulous ‘country’ style clubhouse. Chukkas are played midweek throughout the season and practices give way to tournaments from mid December till April. With a compact polo calendar the club endeavors to accommodate all levels of player and enjoys a fun, inclusive atmosphere.

One50 Dream Days

The idea is to connect everyday kiwis, families, businesses, sports clubs or even schools to organise One Day to provide a meaningful experience to a candidate family who has a child affected by an illness or disability.

Papatoetoe Pony Club

Papatoetoe Pony Club (PPC) was founded in 1949 and became a popular and well-run club. In November 2006, we moved from Papatoetoe to new grounds in Brookby. These grounds are home to both the Pony Club and Papatoetoe Adult Riding Club (PARC).

Clevedon Sports Club

The Clevedon Sports Club is made up of five sporting organisations from the Clevedon District.  These are:

  • Clevedon Football Club

  • Clevedon Cricket Club

  • Clevedon Bowling Club

  • Wairoa Rangers Rugby Club

  • Clevedon Fishing Club

Gynaecological Cancer Foundation

Clevedon & Kawakawa Bay Fire Brigade

Steps for Life

The Steps for Life Foundation is a not-for-profit registered incorporated charity. It was originally established in 2010 to support youth in the drive against obesity. In 2021, the charity refocused its purpose on not only the drive against youth obesity; it has incorporated a holistic approach to the overall health and well being of youth.
